The
“Dynamic Artist Series” is designed for the artist in all of us but who have very little
time to nurture those talents and interests. Each workshop has 8 hours of
instruction, 4 two hour classes, in a two week schedule. The price of instruction is $125 with you bringing your
materials or buying kits from us.
8 hrs. instruction – this course is designed for anyone who wants to learn how to draw well or perfect existing talent. This workshop will cover basic drawing skills from the beginning such as lines, shapes, perspective, shading and values. What to bring to class; 15% DISCOUNT FOR SUPPLIES BOUGHT AT MAIN STREET ARTS. 18 x 24 drawing pad, turquoise pencils, knead and pink pearl erasers. Spring Schedule Coming Soon! 8 hrs. instruction – This hands on course will teach you how to get the most from your camera. You will learn basic camera controls, lenses and settings afterwards you will be shooting pictures to learn focus, depth of field, perspective, exposure and lighting. Get ready to see what the camera sees plus a few pointers on people photography to preserve memories forever. What to bring to class; Your camera (any kind) , camera’s manual (for reference), external flash (if you have one), digital 1gb memory card. *We need to know the physical size of the memory card your camera uses if possible.
Stained Glass
8 hrs instruction – this is a workshop designed to give you instruction in basic watercolor skills covering basic techniques, color pigments, blending, brushes techniques, layering and weight of paper.
What to bring to class; 15% DISCOUNT FOR ART SUPPLIES BOUGHT FROM MAIN STREET ARTS. Brushes #10 & #4, watercolor pad (approx.) 11 x 15 with 140lb paper, painters tape, small palette with lid, watercolors; cadmium yellow deep and medium, cadmium red, cobalt blue, permanent violet, phthalo blue, quinacridone magenta, permanent green, hookers green, venetian red and indigo.
8 hrs. instruction – This course is designed to teach the very basics of the Adobe Photoshop program. You will be taught to import images into Photoshop, manipulate them and finally how to display the images in print form or digitally. Some of the skill sets to be taught are importing, layering, tools, color correction, resolution, filters, topography and formatting. What to bring to class; basic knowledge of computers, laptop with Adobe Photoshop on PC or Mac.
8 hrs instruction – students will practice basic glass cutting techniques becoming proficient in straight lines, curves and circles. You will learn pattern layout, construction, soldering and cementing, resulting in a finished project suitable for hanging. What to bring to class; Stain Glass Kit, $115, can be purchased from Alley Kat’s Glass. Kit includes; work surface, glass cutter, breakers, lead knippers, soldering iron, horseshoe nails, glazing hammer, sponge, flux, brush, abrasive stone, safety glasses plus glass, zinc, lead, solder and cement for the workshop.

Fun with clay. You will learn the techniques of decorative hand built as well as wheel thrown pottery from a wedge of clay. $95/month, this fee includes all instruction, clay, glazes and firings. Classes; Tuesday 6-8pm, Thursday 3:30-5:30 or 6-8pm
